New King James Version | International Standard Version |
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; | 1May the LORD answer you in the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. |
May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; | 2May he send you help from the sanctuary, and may he sustain you from Zion. |
May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah | 3May he remember all your gifts, and may he accept your burnt offerings. Interlude |
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. | 4May he give you what your heart desires, and may he fulfill all your plans. |
We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. | 5May we shout for joy at your deliverance and unfurl our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. |
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. | 6Now I know that the LORD has delivered his anointed; he has answered him from his sanctuary with the strength of his right hand of deliverance. |
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. | 7Some boast in chariots, others in horses; but we will boast in the name of the LORD our God. |
They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. | 8While they bowed down and fell, we arose and stood upright. |
Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call. | 9Deliver us, LORD! Answer us, our King, on the day we cry out! |
