To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.1For the choir director: on stringed instruments. Davidic. God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.2I call to You from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me,
For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.3for You have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah4I will live in Your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of Your wings. Selah
For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.5God, You have heard my vows; You have given a heritage to those who fear Your name.
You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations.6Add days to the king's life; may his years span many generations.
He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!7May he sit enthroned before God forever; appoint faithful love and truth to guard him.
So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows.8Then I will continually sing of Your name, fulfilling my vows day by day.
