New King James Version | Christian Standard Bible |
A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. | 1LORD, how my foes increase! There are many who attack me. |
Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah | 2Many say about me, "There is no help for him in God." Selah |
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. | 3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. |
I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah | 4I cry aloud to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah |
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. | 5I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the LORD sustains me. |
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around. | 6I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. |
Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. | 7Rise up, LORD! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. |
Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah | 8Salvation belongs to the LORD; may your blessing be on your people. Selah |
