New International Version | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. | 1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. |
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. | 2Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. |
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. | 3Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. |
For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. | 4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. |
Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. | 5Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds. |
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, | 6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, |
to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, | 7To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples, |
to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, | 8To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron, |
to carry out the sentence written against them-- this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD. | 9To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD! |
