Psalm 149
NET Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song! Praise him in the assembly of the godly! 1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.
2Let Israel rejoice in their Creator! Let the people of Zion delight in their king! 2Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King.
3Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp! 3Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.
4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them. 4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.
5Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! Let them shout for joy upon their beds! 5Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds.
6May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand, 6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
7in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners. 7To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples,
8They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles, 8To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron,
9and execute the judgment to which their enemies have been sentenced. All his loyal followers will be vindicated. Praise the LORD! 9To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!
