New American Standard Bible 1995 | New Living Translation |
A Song of Ascents. How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. | 1How joyful are those who fear the LORD— all who follow his ways! |
When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you. | 2You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! |
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table. | 3Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. |
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD. | 4That is the LORD’s blessing for those who fear him. |
The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. | 5May the LORD continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. |
Indeed, may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel! | 6May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. May Israel have peace! |
