Psalm 54
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
1For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Is not David hiding himself among us?" Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your power.1For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, "Is not David hiding among us?" Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might.
2Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth.2Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers have risen against me And violent men have sought my life; They have not set God before them. Selah.3Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me-- people without regard for God.
4Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.4Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
5He will recompense the evil to my foes; Destroy them in Your faithfulness.5Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.
6Willingly I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O LORD, for it is good.6I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good.
7For He has delivered me from all trouble, And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.7You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.
