| 21So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. | 21So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he was asleep, he took part of the man's side and closed up the place with flesh. |

| 23The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." | 23Then the man said, "This one at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." |
| 24For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. | 24That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become a new family. |
| 25And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. | 25The man and his wife were both naked, but they were not ashamed. |
