Psalm 58
NASB Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995Christian Standard Bible
1For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Mikhtam of David. Do you indeed speak righteousness, O gods? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?1Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly?
2No, in heart you work unrighteousness; On earth you weigh out the violence of your hands.2No, you practice injustice in your hearts; with your hands you weigh out violence in the land.
3The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.3The wicked go astray from the womb; liars wander about from birth.
4They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,4They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears,
5So that it does not hear the voice of charmers, Or a skillful caster of spells.5that does not listen to the sound of the charmers who skillfully weave spells.
6O God, shatter their teeth in their mouth; Break out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD.6God, knock the teeth out of their mouths; LORD, tear out the young lions' fangs.
7Let them flow away like water that runs off; When he aims his arrows, let them be as headless shafts.7May they vanish like water that flows by; may they aim their blunted arrows.
8Let them be as a snail which melts away as it goes along, Like the miscarriages of a woman which never see the sun.8Like a slug that moves along in slime, like a woman's miscarried child, may they not see the sun.
9Before your pots can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.9Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns--whether green or burning--he will sweep them away.
10The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.10The righteous one will rejoice when he sees the retribution; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11And men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on earth!"11Then people will say, "Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!"
