Psalm 82
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
1A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment:
2How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.2"How long will you judge partially by showing favor on the wicked? Interlude
3Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.3"Defend the poor and the fatherless. Vindicate the afflicted and the poor.
4Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.4Rescue the poor and the needy, delivering them from the power of the wicked.
5They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.5They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.6"Indeed I said, 'You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.
7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.7However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.'
8Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.8Arise, God, to judge the earth, for all nations belong to you.
