Psalm 32
ISV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNET Bible
1How blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.1By David; a well-written song. How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned!
2How blessed is the person against whom the LORD does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.2How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away by my groaning all day long.3When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long.
4For your hand was heavy upon me day and night; my strength was exhausted as in a summer drought. Interlude4For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer. (Selah)
5My sin I acknowledged to you; my iniquity I did not hide. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin! Interlude5Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, "I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD." And then you forgave my sins. (Selah)
6Therefore every godly person should pray to you at such a time. Surely a flood of great waters will not reach him.6For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them.
7You are my hiding place; you will deliver me from trouble and surround me with shouts of deliverance. Interlude7You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah)
8I will instruct you and teach you concerning the path you should walk; I will direct you with my eye.8I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.
9Don't be like a horse or mule, without understanding. They are held in check by a bit and bridle in their mouths; otherwise they will not remain near you.9Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit.
10The wicked have many sorrows, but gracious love surrounds those who trust in the LORD.10An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD's faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him.
11Righteous ones, be glad in the LORD and rejoice! Shout for joy, all of you who are upright in heart!11Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright!
