Psalm 32
ISV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
1How blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.1Davidic. A Maskil. How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!
2How blessed is the person against whom the LORD does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.2How joyful is the man the LORD does not charge with sin and in whose spirit is no deceit!
3When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away by my groaning all day long.3When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long.
4For your hand was heavy upon me day and night; my strength was exhausted as in a summer drought. Interlude4For day and night Your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer's heat. Selah
5My sin I acknowledged to you; my iniquity I did not hide. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin! Interlude5Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not conceal my iniquity. I said," I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and You took away the guilt of my sin. Selah
6Therefore every godly person should pray to you at such a time. Surely a flood of great waters will not reach him.6Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You at a time that You may be found. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.
7You are my hiding place; you will deliver me from trouble and surround me with shouts of deliverance. Interlude7You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance. Selah
8I will instruct you and teach you concerning the path you should walk; I will direct you with my eye.8I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel.
9Don't be like a horse or mule, without understanding. They are held in check by a bit and bridle in their mouths; otherwise they will not remain near you.9Do not be like a horse or mule, without understanding, that must be controlled with bit and bridle or else it will not come near you.
10The wicked have many sorrows, but gracious love surrounds those who trust in the LORD.10Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the LORD will have faithful love surrounding him.
11Righteous ones, be glad in the LORD and rejoice! Shout for joy, all of you who are upright in heart!11Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
