Psalm 123
HCSB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
1A song of ascents. I lift my eyes to You, the One enthroned in heaven. 1A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.
2Like a servant's eyes on his master's hand, like a servant girl's eyes on her mistress's hand, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until He shows us favor. 2As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.
3Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we've had more than enough contempt. 3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.
4We've had more than enough scorn from the arrogant and contempt from the proud. 4We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.
