Psalm 123
HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
1A song of ascents. I lift my eyes to You, the One enthroned in heaven. 1To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!
2Like a servant's eyes on his master's hand, like a servant girl's eyes on her mistress's hand, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until He shows us favor. 2Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.
3Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we've had more than enough contempt. 3Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt.
4We've had more than enough scorn from the arrogant and contempt from the proud. 4Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud.
