English Standard VersionInternational Standard Version
God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment:
“How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah2"How long will you judge partially by showing favor on the wicked? Interlude
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.3"Defend the poor and the fatherless. Vindicate the afflicted and the poor.
Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”4Rescue the poor and the needy, delivering them from the power of the wicked.
They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.5They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;6"Indeed I said, 'You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.
nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”7However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.'
Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!8Arise, God, to judge the earth, for all nations belong to you.
