Berean Standard Bible | New Living Translation |
For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. | 1In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. |
May He send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion. | 2May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. |
May He remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Selah | 3May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude |
May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed. | 4May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. |
May we shout for joy at your victory and raise a banner in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your petitions. | 5May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers. |
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand. | 6Now I know that the LORD rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven and rescue him by his great power. |
Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. | 7Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. |
They collapse and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. | 8Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. |
O LORD, save the king. Answer us on the day we call. | 9Give victory to our king, O LORD! Answer our cry for help. |
