Berean Study Bible | New Living Translation |
A Psalm of David. I will sing of Your loving devotion and justice; to You, O LORD, I will sing praises. | 1I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. |
I will ponder the way that is blameless—when will You come to me? I will walk in my house with integrity of heart. | 2I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. |
I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. | 3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. |
A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know nothing of evil. | 4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. |
Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; the one with haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not endure. | 5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. |
My eyes favor the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way of integrity shall minister to me. | 6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. |
No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who tells lies shall stand in my presence. | 7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. |
Every morning I will remove all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD. | 8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. |
