BSB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleNew International Version
Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out her seven pillars.1Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.2She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
She has sent out her maidservants; she calls out from the heights of the city.3She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.4"Let all who are simple come to my house!" To those who have no sense she says,
“Come, eat my bread and drink the wine I have mixed.5"Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.
Leave your folly behind, and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”6Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight."
He who corrects a mocker brings shame on himself; he who rebukes a wicked man taints himself.7Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.
Do not rebuke a mocker, or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.8Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you.
Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.9Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.11For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.
If you are wise, you are wise to your own advantage; but if you scoff, you alone will bear the consequences.12If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
The woman named Folly is loud; she is naive and knows nothing.13Folly is an unruly woman; she is simple and knows nothing.
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the heights of the city,14She sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city,
calling out to those who pass by, who make their paths straight.15calling out to those who pass by, who go straight on their way,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.16"Let all who are simple come to my house!" To those who have no sense she says,
“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is tasty!”17"Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!"
But they do not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.18But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.
