1A Song of Ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty. I do not aspire to great matters or things too lofty for me.

1LORD, my heart is not arrogant, nor do I look haughty. I do not aspire to great things, nor concern myself with things beyond my ability.

2Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

2Instead, I have composed and quieted myself like a weaned child with its mother; I am like a weaned child.

3O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, both now and forevermore.
