1And Jesus having gone out away from the temple, went away, and His disciples came to Him to point out (show, prove, indicate) to Him the buildings of the temple.
2And He answering said to them, Do you see all these things? Truly I say to you, none not even a stone upon a stone shall be left here which will not be thrown down. 3And as He was sitting upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him in private (on their own), saying, Tell us, when these things will be? And what is the sign of Your coming (arrival, this is also a technical term for the royal visit of a king, literally means “the being beside” thus personal presence-from para eimi- to exist or be close beside) and the culmination (consummation, completion, culminating of the parts into a whole, thus an end because all is come together) of the age? 4And answering, Jesus said to them, Take heed (See) lest anyone cause you to wander (be mislead). 5For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ (the Anointed One, Messiah); and they will cause many to wander (be mislead). 6And you will be about to hear of wars and hearings (reports) of wars. See (perceive) that you do not be alarmed (unsettled, disturbed, troubled, latin-turbemini-upset); for it is necessary to happen, but the end is not yet. 7For ethnicity (nation) will arise (latin-consurget-rise root is awake) against (upon) ethnicity (nation), and kingdom against (upon) kingdom; and there will be famines and earthquakes according to places (in place after place). 8And all these are the beginning (origin, starting point) of birthing pains. 9Then they will hand you over unto tribulation and will kill you; and you will be hated (detested) by all the ethnicities (nations) on account of My name. 10And then many will be stumbled (snared), and they will betray (hand over) one another and will hate (detest) one another; 11And many false prophets will arise and will cause many to wander (be misled); 12And because lawlessness is to be multiplied (increased, made full), the love of the many will grow cold; 13However the one who having endured unto the end, he will be saved. 14And there will be preached this gospel (evangel, good news) of the kingdom in the whole earth unto a testimony to all the ethnicities (nations); and then the end will come (reach the end-destination, arrive). 15When therefore you shall see the abomination (disgustingly abhorrent, detestable, that reeking of stench) of desolation (devastation, lay waste, make destitute, desecration that results from being cut off), which having been spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place- the one reading let him understand (apprehend), 16Then those in Judea, let them flee unto the mountains; 17The one upon the housetop, do not let him come down to take anything from out of his house; 18And the one in the field, neither let him return back to take his outer garment. 19And woe to those having [child] in the womb and to those nursing infants in those there days. 20And pray so that your flight (escape, fleeing) might not be in winter nor on a Sabbath. 21For there will be then great tribulation such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now nor shall ever be. 22And if those there days had not been shortened (curtailed, abbreviated) there would not have been saved any (all, every) flesh, however because of the elect (chosen, selected), those there days will be shortened. 23Then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or here, do not believe it. 24For there will arise false-Christs and false-prophets and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead (cause to wander) if possible even the elect. 25Behold, I have foretold it to you. 26If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the wilderness, do not go out. [or] Behold, [he is] in the inner rooms (secret chambers), do not believe it. 27For just as the lightning comes out away from the east and appears as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28For wherever might be the carcass (corpse), there will be gathered together the birds of prey (vultures, eagles, latin-aquilae-eagles). 29And directly after the tribulation of those there days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light (brightness, radiance, this word in neuter), and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30And then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And He will send His angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather together (gather together upon) His elect from out of the four winds, from the extremities of the heavens, as far as their extremities. 32And learn the parable from the fig tree: When already its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that the summer is near. 33So also you, when you see all these things, know that it is near, upon the doors. 34Truly I say to you, that this generation will not have passed away until all these things shall have happened. 35The heaven and the earth will pass away, however My words shall not pass away. 36And concerning that there day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of the heavens, nor the Son, except only the Father. 37For just as [were] the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For like as they were in those there days before the cataclysmic flood (deluge, inundation, flood over, kata kludon- rough water/wave/surge down against, greek-kataklysmou like cataclysm), eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until that day Noah entered into the ark. 39And they did not know until the cataclysmic flood came and took away all; and thus will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two will be in the field; one is taken (aggressively taken/received from close alongside), and one is left. 41Two women grinding at the mill, one is taken, and one is left. 42Keep watch (Be vigilant), therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord comes. 43And know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief comes, he would have kept watch, and not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44Because of this also, you be ready, because in that hour that you do not suppose the Son of Man comes. 45Who then is the faithful and smart (sensible, prudently intelligent, practically wise, savvy, shrewd) bond-servant, whom the lord has set over (upon) his household to give to them the food in fitting season (opportune time)? 46Blessed is that there bond-servant, whom his lord having come will find doing thus. 47Truly I say to you, that he will appoint (set down, give standing to give charge down over) him over (upon) all that he already has. 48And if that there malicious (bad, rotten, foul) bond-servant should say in his heart, My lord delays, 49And should begin to beat his fellow bond-servants and to eat and drink with those being drunkards, 50The lord of that there bond-servant will come in a day in which he does not expect (pre-suppose), and in an hour which he is not aware of (knowing of), 51And will cut him in two and will place his portion with the hypocrites; there in that place there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. |
