Leviticus 27
Lamsa Bible Par ▾
1AND the LORD spoke to Moses, saying. 2Speak to the children of Israel and say to them. When a man makes a special vow with the price of persons to the LORD, 3Then the valuation of a male from twenty years old up to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 4And if it is a female, then her valuation shall be thirty shekels. 5And if it is from five years old up to twenty years old, then the valuation of the male shall be twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6And if it is from a month old up to five years old, then the valuation of males shall be for the male five shekels of silver, and for the female three shekels of silver. 7And if it is from sixty years old and up, if it is a male, his valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 8But if he is poorer than the valuation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of the person who vowed shall the priest value him.

9And if it is an animal whereof men bring an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD shall be holy. 10He shall not exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he shall at all exchange an animal for an animal, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy to the LORD. 11And if it is an unclean animal of which they do not offer a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the animal before the priest; 12And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad; and as the priest values it, so shall it be. 13But if he wishes to redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part to its valuation.

14And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad, and as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15And if he who sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add a fifth of the money of its estimation to it, and it shall be his.

16And if a man shall sanctify to the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then its valuation shall be according to the seed thereof; about ten ephahs of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. 17If he sanctifies his field from the year of jubilee, according to its estimation so it shall stand. 18But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain until the year of jubilee, and he shall deduct from its valuation. 19And if the man who sanctifies the field wishes to redeem it, then he shall add a fifth of the money of the valuation to it, and it shall be his. 20And if he will not redeem the field, or if he sell it to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. 21But the field, when it is released in the jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a field devoted; its possession shall be the priest's. 22And if a man sanctifies to the LORD a field which he has bought, which was not a field of his inheritance, 23Then the priest shall reckon the valuation thereof until the year of jubilee; and he shall give the price of the valuation thereof in that day as a holy thing to the LORD. 24In the year of the jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the inheritance of the land did belong. 25And all the valuations thereof shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary; twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

26But the firstling of an animal, which should be the LORD'S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox or sheep, it is the LORD'S. 27And if it is of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it according to its valuation, and shall add a fifth part to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to its valuation.

28But every devoted thing that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, both of man and beast and of the field of his inheritance, shall not be sold or redeemed; every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD. 29Every devoted thing which shall be devoted by men shall not be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death.

30And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the LORD'S; it is holy to the LORD. 31And if a man wishes to redeem some of his tithes, he shall add to it a fifth part thereof. 32And all the tithe of the herd or of the flock, even of whatever passes under the shepherd's staff, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD. 33He shall not inquire whether it is good or bad, neither shall he exchange it; and if he exchanges it at all, then both it and the exchange thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

34These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
