To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David.

1Praise awaits You, our God, in Zion; and unto You shall our vows shall be fulfilled. 2O You Who hears prayer, unto You all mankind shall come. 3Though our sins and transgressions prevail against us, You shall purge them and forgive us. 4Blessed is the man whom You choose, and draw near to You, to dwell in Your courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.

5By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation; You are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them upon the farthest sea; 6Who, being girded with might and by Your strength, establishes the mountains; 7Who stills the noise of the waves of the seas, as well as the tumult of the people. 8Those that dwell in the uttermost parts are in awe of Your wonders; You also make the dawn and sunset to rejoice.

9You care for and water the earth; You enrich it with Your streams, which abound with water; You enable the grain crops, by Your care of the land. 10You water its furrows abundantly; You settle its ridges; You soften it with showers; You bless its new growth. 11You crown the year with Your bounty; and Your paths overflow with plenty. 12The grasslands of the wilderness become lush pastures; and the little hills joyfully bloom on every side. 13The meadows are covered with flocks; the valleys also are carpeted with grain; they shout and sing for joy.

A Psalm commemorating the laying of the foundation of the second temple.
