Isaiah 62
Easy Reader Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP
1For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. 2And the nations shall see your vindication, and all kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name, which the LORD shall bestow upon you. 3You shall also be a crown of splendor in the hand of the LORD, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4You shall never again be termed “Forsaken”; nor shall your land any longer be termed “Desolate”; but you shall be called Hephzibah (My delight is in her”, II Kings 21:1, Is. 62:4), and your land Beulah (“Married”); for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. 5For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons (descendants) marry (make an appropriate commitment to) you (the city of Jerusalem); and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. 6I have posted watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never keep their silence day or night; you that call upon the LORD, do not relent, 7And give Him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem, until He makes her the praise in the earth. 8The LORD has sworn by His right hand, and by His mighty arm: “Surely I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies; or allow foreigners to drink your wine, for which you have labored; 9But those that have harvested it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they who have gathered the grapes shall drink it in the courts of My holy sanctuary.”

10Go through, pass through the gates; prepare the way for the people; pave the highway; remove any obstructing boulders; raise a flag for the nations. 11The LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the earth: “Say to Daughter Zion, “Look, your salvation comes; see, His reward is with Him, and His compensation before Him’”. 12And they shall be called, “The Holy People”, “The Redeemed of the LORD”; and you shall be called, “Sought After, A city no Longer Forsaken”.
