The Blessed Fear of Yahweh
(Psalm 112:1–10)

שִׁ֗יר (A Song) הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת (of the Ascents).

1אַ֭שְׁרֵי (Blessed is) כָּל־ (everyone) יְרֵ֣א (who fears) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH),

הַ֝הֹלֵ֗ךְ (those walking) בִּדְרָכָֽיו׃ (in His ways).

2  יְגִ֣יעַ (The labor) כַּ֭פֶּיךָ (of your hands) כִּ֣י (surely) תֹאכֵ֑ל (you shall eat);

אַ֝שְׁרֶ֗יךָ (blessings), וְט֣וֹב (and good) לָֽךְ׃ (are unto you).

3  אֶשְׁתְּךָ֤׀ (Your wife is) כְּגֶ֥פֶן (like a vine) פֹּרִיָּה֮ (fruitful)

בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֪י (in the sides) בֵ֫יתֶ֥ךָ (of your house),

בָּ֭נֶיךָ (your sons) כִּשְׁתִלֵ֣י (like shoots) זֵיתִ֑ים (of olive trees)

סָ֝בִ֗יב (round) לְשֻׁלְחָנֶֽךָ׃ (about your table).

4  הִנֵּ֣ה (Behold), כִי־ (how) כֵ֭ן (thus) יְבֹ֥רַךְ (is blessed)

גָּ֗בֶר (the man) יְרֵ֣א (fearing) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

5  יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ (May bless you) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH) מִצִּ֫יּ֥וֹן (from Zion),

וּ֭רְאֵה (that you may look) בְּט֣וּב (on the good) יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (of Jerusalem)

כֹּ֝֗ל (all) יְמֵ֣י (the days) חַיֶּֽיךָ׃ (of your life),

6  וּרְאֵֽה־ (and may see)

בָנִ֥ים (the sons) לְבָנֶ֑יךָ (of your sons).

שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם (Peace be) עַל־ (upon) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (Israel).
