Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee;
Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,
But when Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him because of Herodias, his brothers wife, and because of all the wicked things which Herod had done, 20
Herod also added this to them all: he locked John up in prison.
Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2
(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were), 3
He left Judea and went away again into Galilee. 4
And He had to pass through Samaria.
