Isaiah 21:9 Look, here comes a man in a chariot with a team of horses. And he gives back the answer: 'Babylon has fallen, has fallen! All the images of its gods lie shattered on the ground!'" Isaiah 46:1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary. Isaiah 46:2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity. Jeremiah 50:2 "Announce and proclaim among the nations, lift up a banner and proclaim it; keep nothing back, but say, 'Babylon will be captured; Bel will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror. Her images will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror.' Jeremiah 50:12 your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations-- a wilderness, a dry land, a desert. Jeremiah 50:35 "A sword against the Babylonians!" declares the LORD-- "against those who live in Babylon and against her officials and wise men! Jeremiah 51:52 "But days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will punish her idols, and throughout her land the wounded will groan.
