Wings

In biblical literature, wings often symbolize protection, swiftness, and divine presence. The imagery of wings is frequently associated with God's care and shelter over His people. In the Psalms, the psalmist writes, "He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart" (Psalm 91:4). This verse illustrates the protective nature of God's wings, offering a place of safety and security for believers.

Wings are also emblematic of the cherubim and seraphim, celestial beings that serve in the presence of God. In the vision of the prophet Isaiah, the seraphim are described as having six wings: "With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying" (Isaiah 6:2). In the Gospel of Mark, it is recorded, "And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them" (Mark 10:16). This gesture of laying hands on the children signifies care, love, and the bestowal of God's favor.
