To the chief Musician upon Muth-labben, A Psalm of David. 1I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. 2I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. 3When my enemies retreat, they shall stumble and perish at Your presence. 4For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne, judging righteously. 5You have rebuked the heathen nations, You have destroyed the wicked, You have blotted out their name forever and ever. 6The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins; and you have destroyed their cities; and their memory with them. 7But the LORD reigns forever; executing judgment from His throne. 8And He shall judge the world in righteousness, He shall minister judgment to the people in fairness. 9The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a shelter in times of trouble. 10And they who know Your name trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken them who seek You. 11Sing praises to the LORD, Who dwells in Zion; declare His deeds among the people. 12For the Avenger for bloodshed remembers the afflicted; and the cry of the humble. 13Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my affliction from them who hate me, You Who lift me up from the gates of death: 14That I may declare all Your praise at Jerusalem’s gates; and I will rejoice in Your salvation. 15The pagan nations have fallen into the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot caught. 16The LORD is known by the justice which He executes; the wicked is caught in his own trap. Selah. 17Death awaits the wicked as well as all the nations that forget God. 18For the needy and oppressed shall not be forgotten forever; nor the hope of the poor. 19Arise, O LORD; do not let men who defy You prevail; let the heathen nations be judged before You. 20Teach them to fear You, O LORD; let the nations know they are mere mortals.
