14 And the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be YHWH, who has not let cease a kinsman-redeemer to you this day, and may his name be proclaimed in Israel. 15 And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age. For your daughter-in-law who loves you—who is better to you than seven sons—has borne him.” 16 And Naomi took the child and laid him in her bosom, and she became to him a nurse. 17 And the neighbor women called for him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David. 18 And these are the generations of Perez: Perez begat Hezron, 19 and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab, 20 and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, 21 and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, 22 and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
