2 God forbid. We who are dead to sin, how shall we still live therein? 3 Do ye not know, that as many as have been baptised into Christ Jesus have been baptised into his death? 4 We have been buried therefore with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted with him in the likeness of his death, so shall we be also of his resurrection: 6 knowing this, that our old man hath been crucified with him, that the body of sin might be abolished, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. 7 For he that is dead is discharged from sin. 8 But if we have been dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Romans 6:2-8, Haweis New Testament.
