17 recompensing to no one evil for evil; providing things honorable in the sight of all men; 18 if it be possible, so far as it depends on you, being at peace with all men; 19 not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God : for it has been written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will recompense," saith the Lord. 20 But, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for, in doing this, you will heap coals of fire upon his head. 21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
