1 After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was illuminated from his glory. 2 And he cried out in a strong voice, saying: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she has become a habitation of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, and a prison of every unclean creature also having been hated. 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality; and the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her; and the merchants of the earth became rich through the power of her luxury.” 4 And I heard another voice out of heaven saying: “Come forth out of her, My people, so that you⁺ may not share together in her sins, and so that you⁺ may not receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins were heaped up to heaven, and God remembered her unrighteousnesses. 6 Render to her as she also rendered; and double to her double according to her works. In the cup that she mixed, mix double to her. 7 As much as she glorified herself and lived in luxury, give to her as much torment and mourning, because in her heart she says, ‘I sit as queen, and I am not a widow, and never shall I see mourning.’ Revelation 18:1-7, Berean Literal Bible.
