6 Now, when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 there came to Him a woman having an alabaster cruse of very precious ointment, and poured it down upon His head, while reclining at table. 8 And the disciples, seeing it, were much displeased, saying, "To what purpose is this waste? 9 For this might have been sold for much, and given to the poor!" 10 But Jesus, perceiving it , said to them, "Why do ye give trouble to the woman? for she wrought a good work for Me; 11 for the poor ye always have with you; but Me ye have not always. 12 For she, in pouring this ointment upon My body, did it with reference to My burial. 13 Verily I say to you, wheresoever this Gospel shall be preached in all the world, that also which this woman did shall be spoken of for a memorial of her."
