Luke 6:1-10 ▼

1 And it came to pass on a Sabbath that He is passing through grainfields, and His disciples were plucking and were eating the heads of grain, rubbing them in the hands.

2 But some of the Pharisees said, “Why do you? do what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”

3 And answering, Jesus said to them, “Did you? not even read this, what David did when he was hungry—he and those being with him:

4 how he entered into the house of God and, having taken the loaves of the presentation, he ate and gave to those with him—which it is not lawful to eat, except only for the priests?”

5 And He was saying to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

6 And it came to pass on another Sabbath that He entered into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.

7 And the scribes and the Pharisees were closely watching Him, whether He heals on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him.

8 And He had known their reasonings, and He said to the man having the withered hand, “Arise and stand in the midst.” And having risen up, he stood.

9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you?, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?”

10 And having looked around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” And he did, and his hand was restored.
