2 Sihon (warrior) king of the Amorites (sayers), who lived in Heshbon (stronghold). He ruled from Aroer (ruins) on the rim of the Arnon (rushing stream) Valley, along the middle of the valley, up to the Jabbok (emptying) River (the border of the Ammonites (tribal)), that is, half of Gilead (rocky region),

3 as well as the Arabah east of the Sea of Chinnereth (the Sea of Galilee) to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea (the Dead Sea) eastward through Beth-jeshimoth (house of the desolation), and southward below the slopes of Pisgah (cleft).

4 And Og (long-necked) king of Bashan [And the territory of Og king of Bashan], one of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived in Ashtaroth (star) and Edrei (good pasture).

5 He ruled over Mount Hermon (a sanctuary), Salecah (migration), all of Bashan (fruitful) up to the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites (she has pressed), and half of Gilead (rocky region) to the border of Sihon (warrior) king of Heshbon (stronghold).

6 Moses (drawn out), the servant of the LORD {YHWH}, and the Israelites (God prevails) had struck them down and given their land as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites (a troop / fortune), and the half-tribe of Manasseh (causing to forget).

7 And these are the kings of the land that Joshua (YHWH saves) and the Israelites (God prevails) conquered beyond the Jordan (flowing down) to the west, from Baal-gad (lord of fortune) in the Valley of Lebanon (whiteness) to Mount Halak (smooth), which rises toward Seir (shaggy) (according to the allotments to the tribes of Israel, Joshua gave them as an inheritance

8 the hill country, the foothills {Shephelah}, the Arabah, the slopes, the wilderness, and the Negev (southland)—the lands of the Hittites, Amorites (sayers), Canaanites (merchants), Perizzites (villagers), Hivites, and Jebusites (Jerusalemites)):

9 the king of Jericho (city of palms), one; the king of Ai (heap of ruins), which is near Bethel (house of God), one;

10 the king of Jerusalem (city of peace), one; the king of Hebron (association), one;

11 the king of Jarmuth (heights), one; the king of Lachish (invincible), one;

12 the king of Eglon (calf-like), one; the king of Gezer (portion), one;

13 the king of Debir (sanctuary), one; the king of Geder (wall), one;

14 the king of Hormah (destruction), one; the king of Arad (a wild donkey), one;

15 the king of Libnah (pavement), one; the king of Adullam (justice of the people), one;

16 the king of Makkedah (place of shepherds), one; the king of Bethel (house of God), one;

17 the king of Tappuah (the apple city), one; the king of Hepher (a well), one;

18 the king of Aphek (enclosure), one; the king of Lasharon (a plain), one;

19 the king of Madon (strife), one; the king of Hazor (castle), one;

20 the king of Shimron-meron (watch-height of Meron), one; the king of Achshaph (I shall be bewitched), one;

21 the king of Taanach (sandy), one; the king of Megiddo (place of crowds), one;

22 the king of Kedesh (holy place), one; the king of Jokneam (the people lament) in Carmel (garden-land), one;

23 the king of Dor (generation) in Naphath-dor (in the heights of Dor), one; the king of Goiim (nations) in Gilgal [Goyim in Galilee], one;

24 and the king of Tirzah (favorable), one. So there were thirty-one kings in all.
