16 And Joshua took all this land: The hill country, and all the Negev, and all the land of Goshen, and the Shephelah, and the plain, and the mountains of Israel, and its lowland, 17 from Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir, and to Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. And all their kings He captured, and struck them and killed them. 18 Many days Joshua made war with all these kings. 19 There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel—except the Hivite dwellers of Gibeon—they took all in battle. 20 For it was of YHWH to strengthen their hearts to engage in battle with Israel, in order that they would be devoted to destruction and that they would not receive favor, but that he might destroy them as YHWH had commanded Moses. 21 And Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel with their cities. Joshua devoted them to destruction. 22 None were left of the Anakim in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did they remain. 23 And Joshua took all the land, according to all that YHWH had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. Joshua 11:16-23, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
