1 but Jesus went to the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and, having sat down, He was teaching them. 3 And the scribes and the Pharisees bring to Him a woman taken in adultery; and, having placed her in the midst, 4 they say to Him, "Teacher, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such; what, therefore, dost Thou say?" 6 This they said, trying Him, that they might have whereof to accuse Him. But Jesus, having stooped down, was writing with His finger on the ground. 7 And, as they continued asking Him, He, having raised Himself up, said to them, "Let the sinless one among you first cast a stone at her." 8 And, again stooping down, He was writing with His finger on the ground.
