1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning, again He came into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him. And having sat down, He was teaching them. 3 Now the scribes and the Pharisees bring to Him a woman having been caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst, 4 they say to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act, committing adultery. 5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such. You, therefore, what do You say?” 6 Now they were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds to accuse Him. But Jesus, having stooped down, was writing with His finger into the ground. 7 But as they continued asking Him, He lifted Himself up and said to them, “The one sinless among you?, let him cast the first stone at her.” 8 And again having stooped down, He was writing into the ground.
