1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me not bearing fruit he takes away: and every one bearing fruit, he cleanses it, that it might bear more fruit. 3 Already are ye clean, through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, if it remain not in the vine; so neither ye, if ye remain not in me. 5 I am the vine, ye the branches: he remaining in me, and I in him, he bears much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If any remain not in me, he was cast forth as the branch, and was dried up; and they gather them together, and cast into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye remain in me, and my words remain in you, ye shall ask whatever ye wish, and it shall be to you.
