1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser. 2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit, he takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Now are you pure, through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If any one abide not in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and such are gathered, and thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you.
