Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come, that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

And supper taking place and the devil already having put into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot that he should betray Him,

knowing that the Father has given to Him all things into the hands, and that He came forth from God and He is going to God,

He rises from the supper and lays aside His garments. And having taken a towel, He girded Himself.

After that, He pours water into the basin, and He began to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

Then He comes to Simon Peter, who says to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?”

Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do, you do not know presently, but you will know after these things.”

Peter says to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet, to the age!” Jesus answered him, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.”
