And they came to the land of Egypt, for they did not listen to the voice of YHWH, and they came as far as Tahpanhes.

And the word of YHWH to came Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

“Take in your hand large stones and hide them in the mortar in the brick that is at the entrance to house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, before the eyes of the men of the Jews.

And say to them, thus says YHWH of Hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I am sending and I will bring Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden, and he will spread his pavilion over them.

And he will come and he will strike the land of Egypt—those for death to death, and those for captivity to captivity, and those for the sword to the sword.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he will burn them and carry them away captive, and he will wrap himself with the land of Egypt as the shepherd wraps himself with his garment, and he will go forth from there in peace.

And he will break the pillars of Heliopolis that are in the land of Egypt, and the houses of the gods of Egypt he will burn with fire.
