33 And he recognized it and said, “My son's tunic! An evil beast has devoured him! Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!”

34 And Jacob tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his waist, and he mourned for his son many days.

35 And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him, and he refused to be comforted. And he said, “For I shall go down to my son mourning, to Sheol.” And his father wept for him.

36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt, to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guards.
