Genesis 36:1-15 ▼

1 And these are the generations of Esau (he is Edom).

2 Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,

3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth.

4 And Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz, and Basemath bore Reuel,

5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

6 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the souls of his house, and his cattle, and all his animals, and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and he went to a land away from the face of Jacob his brother.

7 For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to support them because of their cattle.

8 And Esau dwelt in the hill country of Seir (Esau is Edom).

9 And these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, in the hill country of Seir.

10 These are the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz, son of Adah, wife of Esau, and Reuel, son of Basemath, wife of Esau.

11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 And Timna was a concubine to Eliphaz, son of Esau; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, wife of Esau.

13 And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau.

14 And these were the sons of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

15 These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn of Esau—Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,
