14 And Abraham rose early in the morning, and he took bread and a skin of water, and he gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and the boy; and he sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. 15 And the water was used up from the skin, and she cast the boy under one of the bushes. 16 And she went and sat down by herself opposite him, as distance of the shot of a bow, for she said, “Do not let me see the death of the boy.” And she sat opposite him and lifted up her voice and wept. 17 And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar out of the heavens and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has listened to the voice of the boy where he is there. 18 Arise, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” 19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. 20 And God was with the boy, and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness and became a great archer.
