1 If a man steale an oxe or a sheepe, and kill it, or sell it: he shall restore fiue oxen for an oxe, foure sheepe for a sheepe. 2 If a theefe be found breaking vp, and be smitten that he dye: there shall no blood be shed for hym. 3 But if the sunne be vp vpon him, then there shalbe blood shed for hym, for he should make restitution: if he haue not wherwith, he shalbe solde for his theft.
