5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the River, and her maidens were walking along the hand of the River. And she saw the ark in the midst of the reeds, and she sent her maidservant and she took it. 6 And she opened it, and she saw the child, and behold, a boy weeping. And she had compassion on him, and she said, “This is one of the children of the Hebrews.” 7 And his sister said to the daughter of Pharaoh, “Shall I go and call for you a nursing woman from the Hebrewesses, that she may nurse for you the child?” 8 And the daughter of Pharaoh said to her, “Go.” And the girl went and called the mother of the child. 9 And the daughter of Pharaoh said to her, “Take away this child and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wage.” And the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him to the daughter of Pharaoh, and he became to her as a son. And she called his name Moses and she said, “Because I drew him out of the water.” Exodus 2:5-10, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
