4 These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 The hart, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the buffalo, the rock-goat, the mountain goat. 6 Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof divided into two parts and chews the cud among the animals, that you shall eat. 7 Nevertheless you shall not eat of these that chew the cud, or of these that have the hoof divided, such as the camel, the hare, and the coney; for they chew the cud, but their hoofs are not divided; therefore they are unclean for you. 8 And the swine, because it divides the hoof, but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you; you shall not eat of their meat, nor touch their dead carcasses.
