The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa—that which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

And he said: “YHWH roars from Zion, and from Jerusalem He gives forth His voice. And the pastures of the shepherds withers and the head of Carmel mourn.”

Thus says YHWH: “Over three transgressions of Damascus, even over four, I will not turn back—over their threshing Gilead with sledges of iron.

And I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the citadels of Ben-hadad.

And I will break the bar of Damascus, and I will cut off the ruler from the Valley of Aven and the one holding a scepter from Beth-eden, and the people of Aram will be removed to Kir,” says YHWH.

Thus says YHWH: “Over three transgressions of Gaza, even over four, I will not turn back—over their taking captive a whole captivity, delivering them up to Edom.

And I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it will devour her citadels.
