30 And when forty years were completed, there appeared to him, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight, and as he was drawing near to observe it, the voice of the Lord came to him: 32 I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses trembled, and durst not observe it. 33 Then said the Lord to him: Loose your shoes from your feet; for the place in which you stand is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them; and now come, and I will send you into Egypt. 35 This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? him God sent as a ruler and as a redeemer, by the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush.
